Lesson ideas – using PicCollage

PicCollage was a great app find, with lots of potential uses. A simple but effective way to combine text and images. There are a number of frames and stickers available, and sharing back to the camera roll is very simple.

Here’s one way I used it;
I wanted children to plan a description of a dragon, expanding their vocabulary through reading. I asked them to choose 6 parts of a dragon’s body and find vocabulary from reading to describe each. Using pictures from the Internet in the PicCollage app they were able to zoom in on the aspects of the dragon they wanted to describe and then add in their planned descriptive vocabulary to create a visual plan.
